The Central Library with excellent state of art infrastructure having good resource collection which is international in scope. The Sri Ganesh Central Library is on its way to becoming an outstanding learning resource centre catering to the ever growing and uncompromising information and intellectual requirements of the students, faculty and researchers.
The Sri Ganesh Central Library strives for a high quality of library service, which emphasizes the actual delivery of information rather than the actual delivery of documents to meet the generic as well as specific needs of users. It has computerized all its housekeeping activities using Smart Campus software that is being maintained.
The library is open from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all working days.
The pedagogy ensures that the students get exposure to theory and practice through hands-on teaching techniques. Academic delivery is done through a combination of innovative teaching methodologies, one of which is student interaction that gives students the opportunity to ask questions and have healthy debates.
Students are also given opportunities to conduct seminars and present projects at the end of which the presenter answers questions raised by fellow students. This method of teaching and learning lays the perfect platform for sharing ideas and contributing to the wholesome development of every student.
Minimum Learning Material is an online support system, which helps students prepare for the university examinations. The MLM comprises e-books for theory and practical papers based on the syllabus framed by Pondicherry University that encompasses topic wise key point summaries for a quick revision, question banks and lab manuals with sample results.
The Faculty Advisor Programme is a unique initiative at Sri Ganesh Engineering College that aims to take care of the everyday needs of students both in their academic and personal life. Each faculty member guides a group consisting of 15 students. They cater to the needs of the students, counsel and advise them on various matters including on making the right choice of elective courses (if they are planning to pursue higher studies).Apart from this, the Faculty Advisor Programme helps students unleash their talents in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The Student Learning Centre was initiated with the aim of helping students interact with their peers and faculty to get any subject related guidance or support. It provides a congenial atmosphere for learning and professional interactions. It can accommodate 500 students at a time and comprises 10 computers with internet connectivity. The Centre has the necessary provisions like, LCD projectors to conduct video presentations that also facilitate effective and healthy discussions between faculty and students.
RED RIBBON CLUB
The Red Ribbon Club of the College works to create awareness amongst students on various issues of crucial importance related to health. It works to create awareness on sexually transmitted infections among youth, HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health. The RRC also prepares youth as peer educators/agents of change by developing their leadership and team building skills to help them effectively communicate the awareness received on self-protection and prevention and also to encourage blood donation. For this purpose, the club organises seminars, camps and competitions for students at regular intervals.
YOUTH RED CROSS
The Youth Red Cross unit of the College is a constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. It was started in the College in the year 2006 to create in students, awareness about personal and public health, encourage a humanitarian approach in addressing such issues, promote a spirit of dedicated service and foster affable relationships without discrimination. Every year the YRC wing of the College organizes Blood Donation Camps, Medical Camps, AIDS Awareness Programmes, First Aid Training Programmes, Anti-Smoking Campaigns and Programmes on Environmental Pollution Control.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
● At Sri Ganesh, NSS organises tree plantation events to tackle the effects of pollution and instil a sense of environmental responsibility in the students
● The NSS team organises rallies on international awareness days and campaigns to spread awareness on social issues
● Seminars are conducted to educate the students on the importance of the environment and the means by which it can be preserved
● Many of the students voluntarily donate blood in blood donation camps
ROBOTICS CLUB
The Robotics Club of Sri Ganesh strives to stimulate interest in robotics among students of the institute. Well defined goals, organised work structure and motivated members are the reason the club is a successful initiative. The club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and knowledge.
STUDENTS’ FORUM
The Students’ Forum is an active force in the college that takes part in all the events and activities related to the college such as Tech Fest, College Day and other co-curricular & extracurricular activities.
HOSTEL
The college provides hostel accommodation separately for both boys and girls. We have rooms both Air Conditioned and Non Air Conditioned as per the choice of the student. Our hostel is provided with excellent airy rooms for a comfortable stay away from home The mess menu will be arranged according to the taste and preferences of the students. For the beneficial of the student a medical officer has been appointed for hostel students.

Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak hours. It is well maintained with efficient service and has a take away counter.
The canteen serves students and staff from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on all working days.
TRANSPORT
The sprawling campus of this college lies in Pondicherry and is easily accessible through modes of public transport, private vehicles as well as bus facilities connecting all nearby towns. The college management understands the hassles of transportation in the day to day life of students and so provides vehicles plying from nearby areas of the campus, for the students.
AUDITORIUM
We have a 35,000 sq.ft indoor auditorium with a fully inbuilt sound system and lighting. This auditorium is used for all important college events such as convocation, college day etc.
CONFERENCE HALL
●All A/c Conference halls are equipped with the latest teaching aids like LCD projector, slide projector and overhead projector. ●Conference halls are for conducting guest lectures Symposiums, seminars, etc. ●Educational cassettes are also projected in these Halls in consultation with subject staff.
WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
In our college, the drinking water has been purified by modern treatment technology using Filtration, Ion exchange and Reverse osmosis. There are two R.O. plants are in operation to cater the drinking water needs of all the students, staff members, supporting staff and the visitors. This water is pure, tasty and hygienic rendering it highly suitable for human consumption. This RO treated water is used for drinking purposes as well as cooking purposes.
SPORTS COMPLEX
Physical Education is well equipped with modern infrastructure and includes activities Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, TT, Cricket, Football, Athletics (track and field), and Martial Arts. Sports are in fact a way of life for the student's conscious of health fitness and those looking for professional star status. Physical education, a learning experience, offers a unique opportunity for problem - solving and self-expression and socialization. A well implemented, comprehensive programme is an essential component to the growth of both mind and body.
