Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and Technology, Puducherry, in association with Takshila Institute of VLSI Technologies, organized a webinar on “Job Opportunities in the VLSI / Semiconductor Industry” on 8 August 2026.
The webinar provided students with valuable insights into the semiconductor industry ecosystem, VLSI design and manufacturing, placement opportunities, and industry-oriented career prospects. The session also highlighted the importance of developing relevant technical skills to meet the growing demands of the semiconductor industry.
Students from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) actively participated in the session and gained exposure to emerging career opportunities in the VLSI and semiconductor domain.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 120 participants attending the webinar.
As part of strengthening Industry–Academia collaboration, the college has also initiated an MOU with Takshila Institute of VLSI Technologies. The proposed collaboration aims to provide students with opportunities for industry-oriented training, internships, placement assistance, technical sessions, and skill development in VLSI and semiconductor-related areas.
The webinar and proposed collaboration mark a significant step towards enhancing students’ industry readiness, technical skills, and career opportunities in the rapidly growing semiconductor sector.
