Pongal Celebration 2026 – Honouring Tradition and Cultural Heritage
Sri Ganesh College of Engineering & Technology celebrated Pongal 2026 with great enthusiasm and traditional spirit on 12th and 13th January 2026. The colourful celebrations showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and emphasized the importance of Pongal as a harvest festival representing gratitude, prosperity, and unity. The event encouraged togetherness and cultural pride among students, faculty, and staff, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere throughout the campus.
Festive Games and Interactive Events
Day 1 featured a variety of fun-filled traditional games organized for students, including Lemon in the Spoon, Balloon Bursting, Thanneer Nirappum, and Kol Suttrazchi Potti. Faculty members also actively participated in events such as Nool Kokku Potti and Musical Chair, adding excitement and joy to the celebrations. The activities promoted teamwork, interaction, and a healthy spirit of competition among participants.
Cultural Programme and Pongal Cooking
Day 2 was highlighted by a vibrant cultural programme where students showcased their talents through various performances reflecting Tamil culture and traditions. The celebration also featured the traditional preparation of Pongal, which was carried out collectively by students and faculty members.
