Week 2: Need for Creativity&
Innovation in the 21st Century
The placement Cell of Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and
Technology, organized the second session of the Career Ready
Series titled “Campus to Corporate – Placement Awareness &
Skill Development Workshop” on 14th February 2026 at DBlock.
The theme for Week 2 was “Need for Creativity &
Innovation in the 21st Century.”
The programme commenced with the inaugural address by
the Principal, Dr. N. Gobu, who formally inaugurated the
workshop and introduced the resource person, Mr. Nelson Diaz
B, Assistant Professor, Placement Training Cell, Jeppiaar
Engineering College, Chennai. In his address, the Principal
highlighted the significance of innovation, adaptability, and skill
enhancement in preparing students for corporate careers.
The resource person delivered an insightful session focusing
on industry expectations, workplace culture, and essential
employability skills. The session was made highly interactive
through various games and practical activities designed to foster
creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among students.
Bridging the Gap Between Academic Learning and Corporate
Expectations
The session was highly interactive, as the resource person
conducted various engaging activities and games such as:Selfawareness
games to help students understand their strengths
and areas of improvement, Block and Tackle activity to build
teamwork and problem-solving skills, JAM (Just A Minute)
sessions to improve spontaneous speaking and confidence, and
Group-based exercises to enhance leadership and collaboration.
These activities created an energetic learning environment and
encouraged active participation from students.
The programme was efficiently anchored by Ms. Vinolya
Anthuwan, B.Tech CSE (First Year), who served as the Master of
Ceremonies. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks
delivered by Dr. R. Rajesh, Head of the Department, Science and
Humanities, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, the
resource person, faculty members, and students for making the
workshop a success.
Overall, the workshop was informative, engaging, and
impactful. It provided students with practical exposure to
placement preparation strategies and motivated them to develop
both technical expertise and essential life skills required for a
successful transition from campus to corporate life.
